About the workbench
DeskTester checks what reaches your browser
DeskTester helps you check a microphone, webcam, keyboard, mouse, controller, screen, speakers, headphones, touch input, and other desk hardware without installing an app.
Built for the awkward five minutes before a call
A device problem often starts with a small question. Did the browser hear the microphone? Did that key register? Are both headphone channels playing? DeskTester gives you a focused test and a short list of useful next steps.
The core tests are free and do not require an account. Permission-based tests explain what access they need before the browser asks for it.
A browser observation, not a hardware certificate
A web page sits behind your operating system, browser permissions, drivers, cables, adapters, and application settings. A result can confirm what reached or left this page. It cannot certify a device, repair it, or identify every possible fault.
Raw test input stays local
DeskTester processes recordings, camera frames, keys, pointer paths, touch contacts, controller input, sensor readings, and MIDI messages in your browser. It does not upload that raw test input. Read the privacy policy for the separate, limited data used by analytics and the contact form.
Who runs the site
DeskTester is operated by NMajor Studios LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Use the contact form to report a broken test, ask a question, or send a legal or privacy notice. We do not publish an email address.
