If you felt it, the motor works
A phone that vibrates here but not for calls or messages has a settings problem. Check Sounds and vibration, silent mode, and Do Not Disturb.
If you felt nothing on Android, check settings first
Silent mode, battery saver, and a vibration toggle in Sounds all block the motor. If every app stays silent, the motor or its connector may have failed.
If the page says your browser cannot vibrate, that is the browser, not the phone
iPhone and iPad browsers do not allow websites to vibrate. Use the silent switch or long-press an app icon to feel haptics.
Troubleshooting
If the test fails, try these in order.
Turn off silent mode and Do Not Disturb
Both can stop vibration on many phones. Turn them off and tap Long again.
Turn vibration on in Sounds
Open Settings, Sounds and vibration, and switch on vibration for calls, notifications, and touch. Retest.
Turn off battery saver
Power saving modes often disable the motor. Charge the phone or turn saver off, then tap a pattern again.
Try a call or the maker's diagnostic
Have someone call you, or use the phone's built-in hardware test. If nothing ever vibrates, the motor needs service. Retest here after the repair.
What this test can't tell you
Where a browser check stops.
- The browser only reports that it accepted the request. It cannot sense whether the motor moved, so your answer is the result.
- The Vibration API controls timing only. This page cannot change vibration strength or diagnose the motor, driver, or battery.
- Apple does not expose vibration to websites, so iPhone and iPad browsers cannot run this test.

Does this vibration test work on iPhone?
No. Apple does not let websites vibrate an iPhone or iPad. Feel haptics instead by flipping the silent switch or long-pressing a home screen icon.
Which browsers support the vibration test?
Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet, Firefox, and Opera on Android. Desktop browsers accept the request but computers have no motor.
How do I force my phone to vibrate?
Flip the silent switch or turn on vibrate mode, ask someone to call you, or turn on touch feedback in Sounds. Then tap Long here.
Why does my phone not vibrate from the browser?
Silent mode, Do Not Disturb, battery saver, or a vibration setting is usually the cause. If no app vibrates either, the motor may have failed.
Can a website damage the vibration motor?
No. The browser caps each request at a few seconds and the phone controls the motor itself. Continuous here runs for 5 seconds.
