How to use
4 short steps.
Connect and wake the controller
Plug in or pair the controller and press any button. The page shows its name and whether rumble is available.
Press a preset
Press Weak motor, Strong motor, Both motors, or Pulse. Hold the controller so you can feel which motor runs.
Try custom strength
Open Custom strength and duration to set each motor from 0 to 1, pick a length, then press Play custom.
Stop if it keeps going
Stop cancels any running effect. The page also stops the motors when you leave or the tab is hidden.

If you felt the rumble
If the controller shook when you pressed a preset, the motors, the connection, and the browser all work. A game that does not rumble has vibration turned off in its own settings or the system menu.
If the page says accepted but nothing shook
If the status says the browser accepted the request but the controller stayed still, the motors or the driver are the problem. Try USB instead of Bluetooth, then check the battery and the controller maker's app.
If rumble is not available
If the page reports no rumble for this controller, the browser cannot reach its motors over this connection. Chrome and Edge on a USB cable expose rumble for most Xbox and PlayStation pads, while Safari and Bluetooth are less reliable.
Troubleshooting
If the test fails, try these in order.
Press a button first
The browser does not show a controller until you press something on it. Press any button and wait for the controller name to appear.
Switch to a USB cable
Bluetooth often carries input but not rumble. Plug in a cable, press a button, and try Both motors again.
Try Chrome or Edge
Firefox and Safari expose rumble for fewer controllers. Open this page in Chrome or Edge and repeat the preset.
Check the controller's own settings
Xbox Accessories, the PlayStation settings menu, and Steam can each turn vibration off or down. Turn it up, then retest here.
Charge or replace the battery
Many pads cut rumble when the battery is low. Charge it or plug in, then press Strong motor again.
What this test can't tell you
Where a browser check stops.
- A resolved playEffect promise means the browser accepted the request; it cannot confirm that a motor turned or how hard.
- The Gamepad API exposes basic dual-rumble only, so DualSense adaptive triggers and advanced haptics are out of reach.

How do I test the vibration on a controller?

How do I test rumble on an Xbox controller?
Plug the Xbox controller in by USB, press a button, and use the presets here in Chrome or Edge. The weak motor is the small high-pitched one in the right grip and the strong motor is the low one in the left.
How do I test PS5 controller vibration?
A DualSense works with the same presets, best over USB in Chrome or Edge. Its haptics are voice coils driven as ordinary rumble here, so it feels softer than in a PS5 game.
Why does the page say accepted but nothing happens?
The browser only reports that it sent the request. Bluetooth, a low battery, vibration turned off in the controller app, or a driver without rumble can all stop the motors from moving.
Can vibration damage a controller?
Normal use does not. Motors are built to run for hours in games, and this page sends bursts of a few hundred milliseconds. Stop if you hear grinding or the controller gets hot.
