How to use

Click Start and allow both devices
Your browser asks once for camera and microphone together. Choose the exact devices you plan to use in the call.
Check the preview and speak
You should see yourself and the microphone level should move as you talk. Each card says whether its device is live.
Record a clip and play the speaker cue
Record a short clip to hear your voice. Play the speaker cue and say whether you heard it.
Retry only the device that failed
If one card shows an error, fix it and click its Retry button. The working device keeps running.
Select the same devices in your meeting app
Open the audio and video settings in Zoom, Teams, Meet or Discord and pick the same camera and microphone names.
What the result means
Match what you see to one of these.
If both cards say live, you are ready
If the preview shows you and the level moves when you speak, your browser has both devices. Choose the same names in your meeting app and you are set.
If only the camera works, the microphone is the problem
If the microphone card shows Permission denied or No microphone found, check the input selected in your system sound settings, mute switches and browser permission. Then click Retry microphone.
If only the microphone works, check the camera
If the camera card shows an error, another app may hold the camera, the lens cover may be closed, or permission was blocked. Fix it and click Retry camera.
If you did not hear the tone, check your output
If the speaker cue is silent, your output device, volume or mute is wrong. Fix it in the system sound settings and play the cue again before the call.
Troubleshooting
If the test fails, try these in order.
Allow both devices in your browser
Click the lock or camera icon in the address bar and set both Camera and Microphone to Allow. Reload and click Start.
Allow them in your operating system
Windows: Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and Microphone. macOS: System Settings > Privacy & Security. Turn on both for your browser, then retest.
Close apps that hold a device
Quit Zoom, Teams, Discord, OBS or any camera utility that may already be using the camera or microphone, then click Start again.
Reconnect external hardware
Unplug the webcam or headset, wait a few seconds and plug it into a different USB port. Click Retry for that device.
Match the device names in the meeting app
In the app's audio and video settings choose the same camera and microphone you tested here, then run the app's own test.
What this test can't tell you
Where a browser check stops.
- This check proves the browser can use both devices; it cannot verify bandwidth, echo, or a meeting service.
- It cannot change which devices Zoom, Teams or Discord select, so pick them in the app as well.

Can I test my webcam and microphone online?
Yes. Click Start, allow the single permission prompt and you see your camera preview next to a live microphone level. Both stay in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How do I test the microphone on my webcam?
Click Start and pick the webcam's name in the Microphone list; it often appears with the same brand as the camera. Speak and watch the level move. Record a clip to hear how it sounds.
How do I allow the camera and microphone in Chrome, Firefox and Safari?
Chrome and Edge: click the icon left of the address bar, then Site settings, and set Camera and Microphone to Allow. Firefox: click the permissions icon in the address bar and clear any block. Safari: Safari menu > Settings for This Website.
Can I use an external webcam or microphone?
Yes. Plug it in before you click Start, or click Stop and Start again after connecting it. Then choose it from the Camera or Microphone list. USB headsets appear as both a microphone and a speaker.
Can I hear my microphone live?
Not on this page. Live monitoring through speakers feeds back into the mic, so record a short clip and play it back instead.
