Typical spacebar speed
If you reach 5 to 8 presses per second on a 10 second test, you are in the range most people manage. Above 10 usually means two hands or a technique like jitter tapping.
Held keys do not count
If the count stops rising while you hold Space, that is by design. Key repeat from a held key is ignored so the number reflects separate presses.
Touch versus keyboard
If your phone result is lower than your keyboard result, that is expected. Taps go through a different path from a physical key, so compare like with like.
Troubleshooting
If the test fails, try these in order.
Check that nothing else has focus
If you are typing in a text field, Space goes to the field instead. Click an empty part of the page and press Space again.
Release the key between presses
A held key does not add to the count. Tap and release, then retest.
Test the spacebar key itself
If presses sometimes do nothing, run the keyboard test to see whether Space registers at all, then come back and retest.
What this test can't tell you
Where a browser check stops.
