Terms of service
These terms cover the free browser-based tests and guidance available on DeskTester.
Effective September 11, 2026
DeskTester at www.desktester.com is operated by NMajor Studios LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using DeskTester, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.
1. What DeskTester provides
DeskTester provides free browser-based tools for checking how a browser receives input, plays audio, displays images, or communicates with supported devices. The public tests work without an account.
A result describes what the current browser observed during that session. DeskTester does not certify, repair, calibrate, or fully diagnose hardware. It cannot rule out problems with an operating system, driver, cable, adapter, application, network, or physical device.
2. Use your judgment
Do not rely on DeskTester as the only check for safety-critical, emergency, workplace-compliance, accessibility-compliance, warranty, purchasing, repair, or legal decisions. DeskTester does not provide medical tests or medical advice. If a result matters to health, safety, money, or legal rights, confirm it with a qualified person and suitable equipment.
3. Acceptable use
You may use and link to the public tests for personal, educational, and business purposes. You may not:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or bypass the site's security or request limits;
- send malware, unsolicited promotions, or unlawful material through the contact form;
- misrepresent a DeskTester result as a certification, warranty decision, or professional diagnosis; or
- copy, frame, or resell a substantial part of the site as your own service.
We may limit or block access when needed to stop abuse, protect users, comply with law, or address a material breach of these terms.
4. Intellectual property
NMajor Studios LLC and its licensors retain their rights in the DeskTester software, design, branding, writing, and documentation. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. You may quote short passages and link to DeskTester. Do not use the name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.
5. Third-party systems
Your browser, operating system, hardware drivers, and connected devices are outside our control. The contact form and site delivery also depend on the providers listed in the privacy policy. Their availability and behavior may affect DeskTester.
6. Availability and changes
Tests may change, become unavailable, or behave differently across browsers and devices. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. If a test appears broken, use the contact form and include the page where it happened.
7. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, DeskTester is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms removes a warranty or consumer right that cannot be waived.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, NMajor Studios LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, opportunities, or data arising from DeskTester. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed USD $100. Where law does not allow a limitation, liability is limited only to the extent permitted.
9. Governing law
Wyoming law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This choice does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will post a new effective date and give any notice required by law.
Send support questions or legal notices through the contact form. DeskTester does not publish an email address.
